Chrome Extension Privacy (Local Rank Guru Scanner)

We also provide a Chrome Extension named Local Rank Guru Scanner. The extension operates only in Google Maps tabs opened by the extension when you start a scan. It does not read your browsing history. The extension requests optional access to https://www.google.com/maps* only when you explicitly start scanning, and you can pause/stop scanning or revoke site access in Chrome settings at any time.

Data processed by the extension: (i) API key you provide and basic settings (stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local); (ii) page data from the Google Maps tab opened by the extension that is required to compute rankings for your account (for example, initialization/state data produced by the page). Raw page data may include unique IDs or values produced by the site; these are used strictly to compute rankings and are not sold or shared for advertising.
Purpose: App functionality — to run scans you initiate and compute rankings in your Local Rank Guru account.
Security: Data sent from the extension to our API is transmitted over HTTPS.
Your controls: You can sign out in the extension to remove your API key, pause/stop scans at any time, and revoke Google Maps access in Chrome. For account‑level data deletion, contact us at [email protected].
